@guizzy @dude Anything having to do with shapes and angles uses it. A co-worker was telling me today that he used to work in a shop where they made various 3D shapes and objects out of sheet metal and used trigonometry during the design process to describe the deformations needed to change sheet metal into the desired object.
But I do agree that most people need an understanding of statistics (and “consumer math” things like compound interest, taxes, commissions, discounts, and making change) at least as much as they need geometry and trigonometry. -

That doesn't mean you wish bad things to happen to someone in order to achieve that. Better to wish that troublesome $SOME_PERSON awakens and realizes that they're being a jerk. -

Long talk with #sonOne today, including about fifteen minutes with #GD1 and #GD2 telling me about cute boys in their classes. Talked about the big four-two, his effort to earn his Master's Degree, and financial stuff.
Lately, we talk a lot about investments, home ownership, and retirement.
Oh, and we talked about hard drives for his new NAS. -

A friend of mine has suggested I apply for a Technical Writer position at his company. I think I would be good at it, but it is not a discipline I have ever worked in specifically.
Does anybody have any podcast suggestions for learning a bit about technical writing as a discipline? I have written KB articles before, which in some cases were public and in some cases were essentially the documentation. I have never used any of the fancy document building software though. -
